Eravikulam National Park

This park was established to protect nilgiri thar, small, dark endangered grazers of the high slopes, only wild goats south of the Himalayas, their population less vulnerable because of this 37-square-mile (97-km2) national park of rolling grass hills and forests. Protected with them are elephants, occasional tigers, nilgiri langurs, lion-tailed macaques, and giant squirrels. Best time November–April. Rest house.
